Intermediate Electrical Engineer

Client: Holistic MEP Building Services and Utility design consultant servicing a portfolio of blue-chip clients with sustainable solutions in the built environment.

Role: Using sound knowledge of electrical building services to provide support and line management to the electrical team in order to progress multiple projects producing schematics and engineering calculations within agreed timescales.

Responsibilities:

1. Produce schematics, elevations, details in AutoCAD which meet engineering directives, UK engineering standards, CDM regulations and internal drawing and quality procedures whilst understanding the system being designed.
2. Produce and check engineering calculations as required whilst understanding the engineering principles behind the calculations.
3. Support the team with primary project checking/reviews; resolving issues in order to maintain timeframes and quality compliance.
4. Co-ordinate drawings/CAD with other disciplines, having an understanding of other engineering principles.
5. Organise issue of drafted information, file documents including PDF/DWGs.
6. Maintain a working knowledge of appropriate engineering and industry standards.
7. Assist with AutoCAD work when required.
8. Demonstrate initiative in the management and progress of design projects.
9. Liaise concisely and professionally with external members of the design team and Clients on Technical subjects whether at client meetings, workshops, project review meetings.
10. Provide technical support to the team and provide accurate and timely project updates.
11. Maintain a high standard of probity in professional, personal and financial matters.
12. Maintain good relations with colleagues and external partners.

Requirements:

1. Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering.
2. 2 years post-graduate experience in electrical building services design.
3. High-level working knowledge of CAD.
4. Working knowledge of UK design standards.
