Job Description

The Junior Research Analyst role will be based in Brussels and report to a Senior Analyst. This position will also have the opportunity to work with other team members of the Travel Intelligence Group based in other locations (France, UK, US). MMGY Travel Intelligence in Brussels (TCI Research) focuses on destination intelligence and works for the most prestigious tourism destinations and travel brands in and outside Europe, using a combination of surveys and big data.



Duties and Responsibilities of the Junior Research Analyst:



  • Will serve as an analyst for all research projects within their assigned portfolio, including data analytics, critical thinking, and the translation of data into true insights. The Junior Research Analyst will also work closely with MMGY channel leaders to help translate insights into strategic solutions, ideas and recommendations;
  • Will serve as the primary member for collecting, processing and controlling data, using in-house data solutions, including surveys and big data sources.
  • Will work closely with other data operations teams on project methodology design, data collection strategies, data tabulation quality control, and report design;
  • Will be responsible for survey design, development, and the structure, layout, and content of client reports and deliverables using agency report templates and design standards;
  • Will be responsible for the data visualisation in reports and dashboards.
  • Will provide excellent client service under a Key Account Manager's supervision when it comes to the day-to-day communication within projects.
  • Will collaborate on a cross-functional basis with other MMGY teams, including tasks such as improving strategies for data collection, quality and analysis.

  • A first relevant experience in market research, data analysis and reporting, trend-based tracking and analysis, or similar;
  • Experience in statistical modelling, data analytics, and data management tools, including SPSS or similar, BI solutions (Tableau, Power BI ) and Microsoft Excel, strongly preferred;
  • Experience in the creation, scripting, fielding, and analysis of questionnaires and survey data;
  • Must be comfortable working autonomously - albeit within a defined structure and with appropriate support - and possess excellent attention to detail;
  • Fast learner and interest in new modes of data and BI technology (social listening, dataviz, dashboards )
  • Must be proactive, innovation-driven, self-motivated, adept at dealing with ambiguity, possess strong time management skills, and have excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Interest in the travel and/or tourism industries is a must, and experience in them is a plus;
  • English is your native working language, and knowledge of other languages is a plus.
