Land Acquisition Manager - Solar & BESS

Are you an experienced Land Manager with a passion for renewable energy and a knack for securing prime land deals?

Our client, a leading solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) developer, is seeking a talented Land Manager to join their team. This fully remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK while contributing to a company with a robust 3GW project pipeline.

About the Company: Our client is a front-runner in the renewable energy sector, dedicated to driving the transition to sustainable energy through innovative solar and BESS projects. With a strong focus on excellence and a substantial pipeline of projects, they are making significant strides in the renewable energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Land Acquisition: Identify and evaluate potential land sites for solar and BESS projects, ensuring they meet the necessary criteria for development.
  2. Negotiation: Negotiate land leases, purchase agreements, and easements with landowners, securing favourable terms and conditions.
  3. Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on potential sites, including title searches, land use restrictions, and environmental assessments.
  4. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, local authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project development.
  5. Legal Compliance: Ensure all land agreements comply with local, regional, and national regulations and policies.
  6. Coordination: Work closely with internal teams, including project developers, engineers, and legal experts, to ensure seamless integration of land acquisition into project timelines.
  7. Market Analysis: Stay informed about land market trends, prices, and availability to make strategic recommendations for land acquisitions.
  8. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on land acquisition progress, challenges, and solutions for senior management.

Qualifications:

  1. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Land Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in land acquisition and management, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  3. Track Record: Proven success in securing land deals for large-scale projects, with a strong understanding of the UK land market.
  4. Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with landowners and stakeholders.
  5. Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.

This is a fully remote position, with occasional travel expected to the head office in London.
