Lead Developer

LEAD DEVELOPER - OUTSIDE IR35 - 6 MONTHS INITIAL

Loriens client has an exciting new contract opportunity for a Lead Developer for an initial 6 months.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentorship and delivery capability to a newly established team with a pressing need to migrate to a new AWS platform to meet organisational cost reduction and modernisation objectives.

Essential skills and experience

• Experience of working with Service Oriented Architectures developed with Java and Spring Boot
• Strong knowledge of both modern AWS and development good practice
• Experience of working with, building, modernisation and migration of Java and Spring Boot based microservices
• Experience of working with public cloud technologies (for this role, we require AWS specifically)
• Experience of TDD and Unit-Test tooling
• Experience of acting in a position of seniority within engineering teams within Government projects to deliver/enhance public facing services
• Demonstrable experience in mentoring and conducting knowledge transfer to junior permanent in-house staff

Also nice to have:

• Experience of working with Terraform scripts
• Experience of working with TypeScript
• Experience of working with AuroraDB or MySQL
• Experience with Linux based shell scripting
