We're seeking a talented Lead Engineer to join our team and lead our most ambitious projects.

Role Overview: As a Lead Engineer, you will spearhead the delivery of groundbreaking engineering projects from conception to manufacture. This role demands a unique blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and strong leadership skills. You'll be responsible for guiding projects through rapid development cycles, de-risking delivery for our clients efficiently and effectively.

We are currently looking for someone with a mechanical engineering bias, although our projects usually involve whole system integration and systems, therefore the role suits people who enjoy working in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver exceptional integrated solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary engineering projects, ensuring delivery to client requirements and solving complex technical challenges.
  • Oversee project timelines and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination across diverse technical teams.
  • Identify and manage project risks proactively.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including requirement interpretation and solution generation.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on your projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement of engineering capabilities within the team and wider business.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in developing engineering design solutions and delivering projects/products.
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering background with demonstrable delivery of solutions in that field of expertise.
  • Proven experience in working directly with hardware and machines.
  • Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams on technical projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD systems (Autodesk Inventor preferred, but not essential).
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard project management tools.
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering and software development principles.
