Job Description
Lead Technical Consultant - Sustainability

Our client is driven by their mission to fast-track the food industry on its journey to net zero. With a specialist platform, they provide their clients with trusted insight and accurate data to measure, reduce, and report their environmental impact and shape their strategy. By working together, they will bring a positive and vital change to food systems.

The Lead Technical Consultant is a pivotal role within the organisation. The successful candidate will lead and deliver on technical data-analysis projects, develop net-zero strategies, and transition plans for food manufacturers and food service clients.

Key responsibilities will include:
  1. Preparing, handling, analysing, and drawing insights from client data, making recommendations and shaping strategies. Working with data using scripts, query languages, and a suite of standard and bespoke data analytics packages, techniques, and applications.
  2. Working with in-house data scientists and engineers to optimise the use of their platform, database, and in-house data tools to deliver excellence and efficiency.
  3. Lead client engagement, going beyond compliance and providing expert advice to align with sustainability goals and objectives.
  4. Act as a primary contact through the project lifecycle and provide actionable solutions to align with client objectives and future needs.
  5. Managing delivery teams, overseeing project timelines, and allocating resources. Mentoring junior team members and supporting training and creating opportunities for their development.
Key requirements:
  1. 10 years experience from a consulting environment.
  2. Proven leadership and delivering evidence-based insights and recommendations informed by technical data analysis.
  3. Experience of working with large datasets and leading insightful analysis. Knowledge of languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  4. Experienced in leading multi-disciplinary teams and working closely with data scientists and software engineers to develop and create tools.
  5. Strong communication and client engagement skills.
  6. Self-motivated with an eye for detail and able to take the initiative.
  7. Passionate about sustainability, working with data to bring insightful and impactful solutions.
  8. Previous experience within the food sector would be advantageous.
