Brief Description
Network Rail is looking for a Track Engineering Specialist to join the team as a Lead Trainer. Transferable environments and experience may include previous track work, someone who has experience within engineering, permanent way department along with a general knowledge of the rail industry being ideal.

- Switches and crossing inspectors
- Permanent Way engineers
This is an opportunity to join a close-knit team in Paddock Wood where you are supported to succeed. The team is made up of 5 experienced Lead Trainers and Senior trainers who specialise in individual disciplines. In this role, you will be training and supporting the development of new starters to the railway, apprentices, and experienced employees who are looking to upskill within a new discipline. This is a chance for you to develop your own experience and career with opportunities to take part in funded further education courses along with CPD training days.
We are looking for someone willing to share their knowledge, help others develop, while building their own career at Network Rail. This role would be suited to someone who is passionate about safety and has a safety-critical mindset given the nature of the role.
Location: On site at Paddock Wood, Kent with some travel required depending on training contracts and possible other recruitments to other Network Rail route services locations on occasion.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday full time (35hrs per week)
Salary: £51,600.00

Main responsibilities of being a Lead Trainer:
- Develop the proficiency of employees by inspirational delivery of technical, safety, and vocational training interventions.
- Provide exemplary learner-focused customer service, enhancing enjoyment and motivation to learn.
- Actively foster a safety-first, No-Unsafe-Acts culture within employees and promote the Network Rail Values.
- Drive Network Rail corporate messages & behavioural communications into the consciousness of employees.
- Always act safely; promote safety awareness and demonstrate compliance with safety procedures.
- Continuously develop your technical proficiency, knowledge, and adult education capability.
- Demonstrate capability to earn credibility amongst delegates.
- Continuously improve training materials, assessment materials, and equipment.
- Contribute to Content Review Groups and Skills Forums.
- Maintain the currency of all local training documentation and visual aids.
- Assess the capability of delegates and provide opportunities to learn.
- Support the assessment and evaluation of training impact at course end and at appropriate post-training intervals.
- Support the Workforce Development Manager with Training-Needs-Analysis, programme design, evaluation, team dynamics, and centre performance.
- Demonstrate a flexible approach to achieving the objectives of Competence & Training.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal quality procedures and work instructions.
- Support, promote, and enforce company processes and policies as a Network Rail Manager.

- Thorough knowledge of the technical or operational capability relevant to the role.

- Management capabilities in developing, planning, thinking, and achieving.
