The Leadership Development Manager is focused on building incredible leadership capability, providing consulting and coaching to the entire organisation and our franchise partners, in order to support Pret's vision, mission and overall objectives. They are tasked with ensuring alignment between Pret's Growth Plan and leadership training practices and objectives, providing high impact leadership development strategies using experience, data analysis and organisational agility to guide decision making.
Key to success will be the ability to spearhead our leadership development programme, 'How we lead at Pret', and initiatives that empower and cultivate emerging leaders within Pret. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing the leadership capabilities of employees, driving Pret's growth, and ensuring a pipeline of skilled leaders for the future. This role is the key to nurturing leadership talent within the organisation, especially in the context of an international, multicultural, diverse, and fast-paced environment.
This role reports to the Head of Learning and Leadership and will oversee, and be responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the impact of Pret's leadership development interventions for our shops' and support centres' teams globally. You will partner with internal stakeholders across Pret to design and promote programmes that support employee development and progression.
What will I be doing?- Design and implement leadership development experiences, tools and frameworks, including our leadership development programme, 'How we lead at Pret'; coaching & mentoring solutions; and leadership assessments for first-time people managers through to the Global Leadership Team.
- Support individual career paths with leadership development programmes that apply a blended approach to learning: including in-person, virtual, 1:1, classroom learning, on-demand and blended methodologies.
- Work closely with other strategic people functions, serving as an internal consultant on career development.
- Partner across Pret to understand the specific skills required of managers, leaders and executives to identify leadership needs, priorities and understand the capabilities needed to enable Pret's growth plan to become a reality.
- Translate strategies into learning solutions aligned to Pret's overall business objectives.
- Design, curate and deliver a global suite of highly effective solutions that elevates employee leadership capability and organisational performance across the globe.
- Develop communication plans that engage employees, managers and leaders in leadership development solutions.
- Improve understanding of Pret's leadership behaviours at all levels across the organisation and support leaders and managers in ensuring that they demonstrate the desired behaviours consistently.
- Assist in the development of coaching as a key leadership style by ensuring that coaching principles and skills are built into leadership and management development programmes.
- Evaluate the impact of leadership development interventions in order to identify areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance the current offer to support leaders in achieving their full potential. Implement KPIs that provide meaningful insights and guide investment in leadership development.
- Develop and maintain an emphasis on internal learning with strategic use of external partners where appropriate.
- Work with Support Centre senior leaders to understand any technical and behavioural skills gaps within their teams.
- Design and develop global Support Centre learning initiatives to ensure that all Support Centre colleagues have the learning they need to thrive in their roles. This includes, but is not limited to, technical and behavioural skills, focusing particularly on technical skills needed to keep our customers and people safe. While we are not expecting an in-depth knowledge of all possible technical training, we are looking for partnership with colleagues, HRBPs and providers as required/appropriate.

- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Significant experience in building and scaling employee learning and career development programmes across the globe in a fast-paced multi-site environment.
- Extensive knowledge of learning and career development, including formal and informal methods, digital learning, just-in-time learning, microlearning and blended learning strategies.
- Broad global perspective and the ability to lead with cultural sensitivity across a diverse, global organisation.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (we currently use Cornerstone) and e-learning authoring tools (we currently use Elucidat).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- An approach that positions L&D as a key contributor to the bottom line and enhances and encourages entrepreneurial spirit, pace, growth, and dynamism across the organisation.
- Able to demonstrate and evaluate the impact of their interventions.
- Experience in implementing new initiatives and rolling out new ways of working.
- Ability to innovate new concepts that fit Pret.
- Ability to network professionally externally and internally and represent Pret to the external market.
- Approachability and a deep care for the wellbeing of others.
- This role requires occasional UK and International travel, including overnight stays.

The salary range for this role is £50,000 - £60,000. At Pret, we embrace a hybrid working model, with our team spending three days a week in our London, Victoria office.
