Job Description

*Learning & Design Manager* (Contract)

Duration: 12 Months (Possibility for extension)

Location: Crewe/Hybrid (3 days in office)

Rate: A highly competitive PAYE rate is available for suitable candidates

Role Overview

As the Learning & Design Manager, you will take ownership of our core Qualification Pathway-focusing on Technical, Commercial, or Product learning. You will design, develop, manage, and deliver blended learning solutions tailored to meet the training needs of our global Retailer network. Your expertise will ensure our teams are equipped with the knowledge and skills to represent our Brand, understand our Processes, and master our Products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive brand engagement and effectively communicate our messaging through all training initiatives.
  • Produce and present compelling business cases for training interventions, fostering partnerships with expert suppliers.
  • Represent the Retailer Academy in senior forums, Retailer conferences, and training events, addressing objections and managing deviations.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, SMEs, and Regional teams to confirm and align training and qualification plans.
  • Define, track, and manage the associated budget for training programmes.
  • Deliver Train the Trainer sessions, sharing best practises and ensuring seamless handover of training materials.
  • Audit the quality of training across the network and implement action plans based on findings.
  • Identify and develop innovative learning methodologies, exploring opportunities in digital learning technologies (eg, eLearning, VR, AR).
  • Lead robust pilot projects and cultivate relationships with learning technology experts, suppliers, and Retailer groups for best practise sharing.

Skills & Experience:

  • Professional experience in Product, Commercial, or Technical functions relevant to the qualification Pathway.
  • Proven background in coaching, training, or related fields is essential.
  • Experience in delivering L&D programmes on a global or national scale for large organisations.
  • Expertise in researching and implementing effective learning methodologies for team development.
  • Proficiency in producing high-quality training materials, including eLearning programmes, trainer guides, and lesson plans.
  • Strong end-to-end project management skills.
  • Supplier management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage personal and team workloads effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Experience working with Franchise partners and cross-cultural teams.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and detail-oriented mindset.
