Job Description
Our client is expanding its legal team and is seeking a highly motivated Legal Counsel to join their organization.
The ideal candidate will have a post-qualification experience between 1-4 yearsas a lawyer, with experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various types of commercial and supplier agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, vendor agreements, addenda, and amendment agreements, ensuring compliance with multiple legal frameworks.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams within the business, including commercial, compliance, and finance, to ensure all contracts align with overall business objectives and minimize potential risks.
- Offer clear, practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders, including the commercial team, on commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards.
- Ensure compliance with data protection requirements and draft, review, and negotiate data protection agreements in an international environment.
- Assist with the preparation of corporate documentation that shall be required from time to time for the entities forming part of the client's group of companies.
- Maintain a contract registration and management system for organizing commercial and vendor agreements and other documentation, facilitating smooth tracking of important agreement milestones, including renewals, expirations, and obligations.
- Conduct legal research to stay informed of legislative and regulatory developments in multinational regulatory online gambling regimes, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations and mitigating potential risks.
- Handle additional tasks and responsibilities as delegated and required for the smooth running of the legal team.
Key Skills
- Qualified lawyer, preferably with a warrant to practice law in Malta.
- A minimum of 1 year and maximum 4 yearsof post-qualification experience as a practicing lawyer, with a focus on commercial or corporate law.
- Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial agreements, including those with cross-jurisdictional elements.
- High attention to detail with exceptional analytical skills to ensure contracts are accurate, enforceable, and aligned with the organization's objectives.
- Fully committed to delivering high-quality work and possessing excellent organizational skills, even when managing tight deadlines or competing priorities.
- A collaborative team player who is willing to share knowledge and contribute to the growth and success of the legal team while also being self-driven and able to work independently, consistently demonstrating productivity and accountability with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience working within an international business environment or in the iGaming sector is a plus.
