We are looking for a lawyer/Business Affairs Manager to join the Business and Legal Affairs (BALA) team in London. You will support the commissioning of scripted and unscripted content for our channels and streaming services, working with a broad range of commissioners and third-party suppliers.

1. Drafting, negotiating and advising on development, acquisition, and Programme Production Agreements and ancillary contracts.
2. Reviewing chain of title documents and advising on commitments made in Editorial/Commissioning Specification Forms.
3. Guiding commissioning teams on rights and legal matters.
4. Advising on finance arrangements, including advertiser funded agreements.
5. Ensuring compliance and governance obligations are met within UK and US frameworks.
6. Maintaining commercial relationships with programme suppliers.
7. Establishing relationships with key external stakeholders.
8. Reviewing and updating company precedents.
9. Advising on changes in law affecting Paramount's business activities.
10. Advising on intellectual property rights and commercial matters.
11. Input into team best practices and template agreements.
12. Liaising with outside legal counsel as required.
13. Flexibility to work on ad hoc tasks and projects.

1. Qualified lawyer with at least 2 years' post qualification experience.
2. Experience in drafting and negotiating rights agreements in the television/media industry.
3. Basic knowledge of media compliance laws.
4. Strong legal research, analysis, and reasoning skills.
5. Knowledge of rights issues, contract law, and copyright law.
6. Exposure to privacy and data protection issues.
7. Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail.
8. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
9. Ability to manage a large workload under time pressure.
10. Ability to present complex legal concepts clearly.
