Job Description
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Applications are invited for the post of consultant radiologist. The expansion of the department, accelerated by the opening of Community Diagnostic Centres, has provided the capacity to increase our consultant numbers. The role involves integrating into well-established teams but also to develop, with support, new areas of interest. A contribution to the department's general work is expected but most sub-specialist interests can be accommodated. The ethos of the department is to provide an excellent patient experience through teamwork, both internally and with our clinical colleagues.

Main duties of the job

A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and their clinical director on behalf of the medical director three months after the commencement date of the appointment. The job plan should be reviewed annually. It will cover all aspects of a consultant's professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities, including a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external. It should include personal objectives, including details of their link to wider service objectives and details of the support required by the consultant to fulfil the job plan and the objectives. A typical 10 PA job plan will include 2 sessions of SPA. The DCC will consist of (not exclusively) multimodality reporting sessions, ultrasound lists where appropriate and MDT cover/preparation.
