We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Locum Consultant colleague on a 6 month fixed term contract, to the department of ENT which sits within the Digestive diseases and Surgery Clinical Service Unit (CSU) based at Bradford Royal Infirmary. The post holder will be expected to have a broad experience of the specialty, particularly management of Head & Neck cancer. The Head & Neck service in Bradford works collaboratively with colleagues in Oral/OMFS and Plastic surgery.
Experience of teaching both under graduates and post graduates would be an advantage. Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC, fit to practice and able to demonstrate that they have the required broad-based training, experience and knowledge for the post.

- If you are currently a substantive consultant, we would require one of your referees to be either the Medical Director or Chief Executive

To be part of a team of ENT Consultants who will be tasked with delivering the ENT service to Bradford and the surrounding areas. The post holder will be responsible for diagnosis and treatment of patients at the hospitals, clinics and theatres at which they have duties.
Job responsibilitiesThe post-holder will:
- Be part of a team of ENT consultants who will be tasked with delivering the ENT service to Bradford and the surrounding areas, and will have responsibility for diagnosis and treatment of patients at the hospitals and clinics at which they have duties.
- Be responsible for the continuing treatment of patients under their care.
- Be expected to be responsible for personal performance of duties as agreed in the formal job plan.
- Be expected to demonstrate commitment to the Trust's clinical governance and risk strategy, and adhere to all Trust Policies and Procedures.
- Be expected to uphold standards and ensure these are developed through methods such as audit, evidence-based research and appraisal.
- Be expected to work flexibly with colleagues to achieve the agreed planned activity for the service.
- Ensure that new techniques (outside ethically approved research projects) are only introduced after appropriate training, with approval of the relevant clinical directorates and with arrangements for evaluation and an audit trail.
- Undertake any other duties necessary for the successful performance of the role, commensurate with the grade.
- Evidence of completing an approved period of training in ENT.
- Ability to perform the requirements of the post.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Commitment to working cooperatively and collaboratively with other health professionals and organisations.
- Ability to work effectively in multi-professional teams.
- Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality.
- Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff.
- Understanding of what the NHS Constitution means to you, and your responsibilities to the public, patients and colleagues.
- MBChB or equivalent.
- MRCP or FRCS of equivalent to specialty (UK) or equivalent.
- Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (UK) or equivalent.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
