Location: Sheffield.

Contract: Full-time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

People management responsibility: 2 direct reports, responsible for a headcount of circa 70.

Reports to: Head of Supply Chain.

In this newly created position, you will play a crucial role in driving operational performance and service excellence through our in-house and third-party warehouse operations, overseeing the distribution of our products to ensure high levels of service for customers and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Health and Safety: Guide and promote health and safety excellence across all supply chain functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a culture of safety.
  2. Leadership: Motivate and develop a high-performing team, including Operations Managers and Supervisors, to achieve operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  3. Operational Strategy: Collaborate with the Head of Supply Chain to implement operational strategies that align with business objectives and enhance efficiency.
  4. Process Optimisation: Identify and implement opportunities to optimise processes, reduce costs, and improve the flow of goods through our distribution centres. Steer the adoption of new technologies and systems to enhance operational capabilities.
  5. Supply Chain Management: Ensure seamless coordination between warehouse, transportation, and supply chain operations, enhancing customer experience and value. Manage budgets effectively, driving cost-saving initiatives and maintaining high service levels.
  6. Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports and analysis, presenting actionable insights for ongoing improvement.

What You Need to Succeed:

  1. Experience: Proven experience in logistics and distribution management within a fast-moving medical distribution or FMCG operation, with a deep knowledge of logistics best practices and distribution principles. Proven track record of leading and implementing initiatives to drive operational efficiency and support rapid business growth.
  2. Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop multi-disciplinary teams across diverse operations. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience using Warehouse Management Systems.
  3. Attributes: Passionate about delivering excellent customer service. Flexible and adaptable to changing business requirements. Inclusive leadership approach and cultural awareness. Patient-focused.
