Job Description:

Duties:

We are looking for a proven Logistics Engineer or planner, with broad knowledge of Logistic Engineering solutions, processes, systems and equipment and latest market trends. Covering, but not limited to the in-plant logistics processes, lineside delivery methods, storage media, kitting strategies, AGVs and handling equipment.

Knowledge and experience of supporting data management, requirements gathering, solution and layout designs, business case creation, right through to delivery and final project completion.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Support development of warehousing and logistics solutions to drive towards benchmark CPU/HPU performance through:

1. Data analysis identifying process waste and proposing solutions.
2. Manage delivery of defined project elements in-line with Safety, Sustainability, Quality, Cost, Delivery.
3. Liaise with Stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally (e.g. GME, Material Flow & Logistics Providers) to optimise end-to-end processes & flow solutions, using Value Stream maps and/or simulation, define solution requirements, with an up-to-date knowledge of automation landscape where relevant.
4. Ensure project inputs (e.g. data/assumptions) are correct.
5. Value Stream Map creation.
6. Generate layouts & process flows.
7. Control the project 'Plan for every Part' inputs relevant to Manufacturing Logistics: Sourcing alignment, stock holding, storage media, point of fit, etc.
8. Create Standards documentation for new solutions implemented.
9. Create RFQ's and manage through process to nomination.
10. Problem Solving.
11. Raise and manage shopping carts/PO's.
12. Liaise with facilities team to ensure facilities team deliverables are clearly defined and handed over.
13. Report out status on project responsibilities.
14. You will have to establish business requirement or engage with Stakeholders and Customers alike and present sound logistics engineering solutions.
15. These will require elements of finance justification and once approved you will lead the end result through to delivery, where relevant. Thus, you will need to be proactive in your approach and develop relationships with a number of Internal and External Stakeholders to drive the end result, in line with our client's Creator's Code.
16. These projects will include all aspects of Sustainability and Health & Safety and as our client is a keen promoter of both, these will be top on the list.
17. This is a highly demanding role, providing opportunities for international travel and a sense of autonomy and control over your work.

Skills:

1. Previous experience and background in Manufacturing Logistics.
2. Broad knowledge of logistic engineering solutions, data, processes, systems, equipment, automation and latest market trends.
3. Covering, but not limited to In-plant logistics processes, lineside delivery methods, storage media, kitting strategies, AGVs and handling equipment.
4. Ability to create logistics warehouse and lineside layouts.
5. Strong analytical skills, data maintenance and statistical ability and using data to simulate solution scenarios.

Education:

1. Previous experience in Logistics.
2. Understanding of Logistics flows and process and principles of optimisation.
3. Ability to create logistics warehouse and lineside layouts.
4. Project management/delivery of small projects.
5. Experience of Value Stream Mapping, identification and elimination of waste.
6. Strong analytical skills, data maintenance and statistical ability.
7. Experience of process improvement.
8. A good communicator who can articulate complex ideas (verbally or through presentation).
9. An individual, who can work independently and demonstrates drive and tenacity to get the job done.
10. Able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style.
11. An effective team player.
12. Proficient IT skills in Excel / Powerpoint.
