An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Major & Complex Loss Director to join a world-leading loss adjusting firm. This senior leadership role will be instrumental in driving the strategy, growth, and technical excellence of the Major & Complex Loss (MCL) division, overseeing high-value, multi-million-dollar claims across multiple regions and industries.
As a key figure in the business, you will provide technical oversight, client relationship management, and operational leadership while ensuring the highest standards of service delivery. This is a role for a dynamic leader who can influence and inspire teams, maintain strong client relationships, and contribute to the global expansion of the MCL division.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategic Growth- Define and implement the global strategy for the Major & Complex Loss division, aligning with business objectives.
- Develop and expand the firm's presence in key markets, identifying growth opportunities and revenue streams.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of senior adjusters and technical specialists across multiple territories.
- Collaborate with regional directors and executive teams to drive operational efficiency and best practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert on major, complex, and catastrophic losses, providing technical direction on high-value claims.
- Oversee and manage complex commercial, industrial, energy, and specialty claims exceeding multi-million-dollar thresholds.
- Ensure adherence to global regulatory standards and client service agreements, maintaining the company's reputation for excellence.
- Lead post-loss investigations, forensic analysis, and policy interpretation, ensuring technical accuracy and robust decision-making.
- Build and maintain relationships with insurers, reinsurers, corporate clients, and brokers.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, seminars, and client meetings, acting as a thought leader in the MCL space.
- Drive business development initiatives, securing new contracts and enhancing client retention.
- Lead catastrophe response strategies, deploying teams and resources effectively during major events.
- Proven track record in major and complex loss adjusting within a global loss adjusting firm, insurer, or specialist claims consultancy.
- Strong expertise in handling large-scale, multi-million-dollar claims across sectors such as property, construction, energy, engineering, marine, and business interruption.
- Extensive knowledge of international insurance markets, policy wordings, and loss adjustment processes.
- Experience managing large teams and overseeing complex claims portfolios across multiple jurisdictions.
- ACII, CILA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification (highly desirable).
- Exceptional leadership and strategic management capabilities.
- Strong client relationship management skills with experience in securing new business.
- Ability to operate at C-suite level, engaging with senior stakeholders and industry leaders.
- Willingness to travel globally for client meetings, site inspections, and catastrophe response deployments.
