Join the Aircraft Manufacturing team based in Bristol as Manufacturing Engineering Lead - Tooling and help us to achieve our mission of pioneering electric aviation.
What success will look like for you as Manufacturing Engineering Lead - Aircraft?
As a Manufacturing Engineering Lead - Aircraft, you will be required to lead the development and implementation of manufacturing systems and processes in order to achieve our plans for large-scale production of our VX-4 aircraft. Taking responsibility for the definition and specification of all tooling required to produce our aircraft, taking into account the build sequence and assembly concepts as well as the aircraft build rates. Working with MEs, design engineers, and suppliers to design, buy-off, and implement the tooling.
What would we like you to bring?
We want you to be successful in your role. To achieve this, you will need to have proven experience with strong manufacturing and mechanical engineering experience, including tooling design, manufacturing process development, and GD&T. A strong background in high volume final assembly and lean manufacturing principles with relevant experience in NPI. Experience of design and engineering processes in order to establish the correct tooling and equipment needs. Experience in automotive or aerospace is desired.

As an employee of Vertical Aerospace, you are required to report any safety concerns, however minor, either through your People leader or using the confidential reporting systems that Vertical Aerospace has in place. You are to remain up to date with all of the relevant Safety training that Vertical Aerospace promulgates.
