About the role

Energia, part of Energia Group, have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Technician based in Huntstown Power Station.

Reporting directly to our Huntstown Production Manager, the Manufacturing Technician undertakes the operations and maintenance of the two Huntstown CCGT power plants and the balance of plant systems, on a shift cycle.

The successful candidate will bring proven experience as a highly motivated and resourceful Technician in the power or manufacturing industries. Being able to demonstrate passion, self-assurance, integrity and trouble shooting skills are core elements of this challenging role.

Your key responsibilities and accountabilities

Day-to-day, here's what your new role would look like:

• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the two power plants to meet electricity production targets in accordance with safety policies and procedures, environmental compliance requirements and operating and maintenance policies and procedures.

• To start-up, shut down, sustain and re-configure combined cycle gas turbine plant and associated equipment.

• Monitor, diagnose and rectify operational problems and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot complex plant problems.

• To continuously build your level of knowledge, understanding and ability to help maintain the highest levels of availability, efficiency and reliability of the power station.

• Promote a culture of safety, health and wellbeing of all persons working in the power plant.

• Compile detailed technical reports and procedures on plant process and performance.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and implement improvements in all areas of the power station.

• Develop innovative approaches to improve systems and processes as appropriate to ensure the plants operate in an effective manner.

• Be an integral member of our overall Huntstown team; collaborating, sharing knowledge, support and flexibility with your colleagues.

• This is a 24/7 shift role which requires a degree of flexibility around shift coverage.

Our key criteria

These are the qualifications, experience, skills, or knowledge you must have:

• Completion of a time-served apprenticeship and / or a third level qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, C&I or Automation Engineering.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues on production equipment, e.g. mechanical, electrical, automation, control, process chemistry.

• Proven ability to operate and / or maintain production plant and equipment.

• Demonstrable experience of drafting and updating operating procedures and / or technical reports.

Our desirable criteria

These help decide between talent who meet all the essential criteria:

• Experience in the electricity / power industry, e.g. electricity power generation.

• Safety authorisation under a Safe System of Work.

• Experience of automation control systems, such as Siemens T3000, Siemens S7, Mitsubishi Netmation or other industry offerings.

• Experience with maintenance management system, e.g. Maximo.
