Job Title: Marine Welding Inspector

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £51,579 depending on experience

What you'll be doing:

  1. Providing an efficient technical Welding Inspection and welding technical capability service to internal and external customers that enables the appropriate governance and assurance checks to ensure our products and services are delivered to the required standards.
  2. Liaising with classification society i.e. Lloyds/ DNV to discuss requirements and making recommendations.
  3. Working with Skills Development Centre on training and testing requirements for welders.
  4. Providing knowledge, experience and technical support to enable resolution to problems that will be encountered during delivery phases.
  5. Controlling, directing and advising BAE, its customers, auditors and classification societies with regards to all Welding technical matters.

Your skills and experiences:

  1. Proven Engineering experience in a marine environment having completed a recognised Apprenticeship in a Constructive discipline.
  2. Must hold an in date CSWIP 3.1 Welding inspection.
  3. Hold in-depth Welding process knowledge in Maritime welding practices.
  4. Be qualified or experienced in 1 of Non-Destructive Examination to PCN Level 2 in Magnetic Particle Inspection or Dye Penetrant Inspection.

Come and be part of a professional dynamic team! Our team provides Maritime Services with efficient technical Welding Inspection/NDE capability, we advise and support internal and external customers supporting the Royal Navy and their warship vessels.

We are at hand to advise the Maritime projects on welding and complex technical matters, with both opportunities to work in PNB and abroad.
