Mechanical Estimator for an M&E Contractor for projects in the East Midlands

Position: Mechanical Estimator (Temporary, Contract, Freelance)
Location: East Midlands
Start Date: Immediate
Rate: £25 - £40 per hour via Umbrella or PAYE, DOE
Summary
We are currently seeking a talented Mechanical Estimator to join our client's team in the M&E contracting building services market. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to a variety of challenging projects and help drive the success of the company.
Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
• Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labour expenses.
• Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals.
• Review and update estimates to reflect changes in project scope or market conditions.
• Maintain a database of historical cost data to improve the accuracy of future estimates.
• Ensure all estimates comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the M&E contracting sector.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field.
