Job Description

Job title: Mechanical Project Engineer

Location: Portsmouth. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £42,000 depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

  1. Involved in a key role in integrating a complex warship upgrade, delivering command confidence in the Power & Propulsion systems of the T45 Destroyers.
  2. Ensuring engineering integrity is maintained through the embodiment of a complex modification across multiple platforms.
  3. Providing on-site support to oversee delivery across multiple Naval Platforms.
  4. Supporting the effective delivery of change in configuration and carrying through engineering best practice to subsequent embodiment periods.
  5. Surveying, and resolving design and integration issues that arise through embodiment and commissioning / regeneration.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential skills or qualifications required for the position:

  1. Knowledge of Mechanical and Fluid systems including Diesel Generators and auxiliary systems including: intakes/exhausts, fuel, sea water systems, HVAC etc.
  2. Strong collaboration skills as you will be liaising with stakeholders across Portsmouth Naval Base to support the resolution of design, integration and materials queries, and supporting progressive assurance activities with the MOD and other approval authorities.
  3. Relevant engineering qualification, engineering degree or equivalent.
