Job Description

The University of Wolverhampton is recruiting THREE full-time Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners to join our vibrant Mental Health and Wellbeing team that sits within our Directorate of Student Life. These posts are additional posts representing new investment, that will join the established team, and signifies the strength of priority University leadership is placing on student mental health and wellbeing.

The department supports student retention, achievement, and satisfaction by providing a range of services to enhance student mental health and wellbeing and ensure that all students have access to support appropriate to their needs. The Mental Health and Wellbeing Team comprises rapid triage and assessment of need, wellbeing advice and guidance, specialist mental health support and interventions, and short-term counselling. The service makes a key contribution to the University's Student Success Strategy to support all students, whatever their background, to reach their full potential.

You will join our team as expert clinicians/practitioners responsible for the co-ordination and management of complex mental health student cases. You will involve managing a caseload and supporting and initiating crisis and longer-term interventions for students with mental health concerns, symptoms, and diagnoses, many of whom present with heightened risk.

We are looking for professionally accredited registrants (NMC, BACP, HCPC, SWE) who are passionate and enthusiastic, with a naturally collaborative approach to service delivery. As a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner, you will provide expertise and guidance to members of the wider Student Life Directorate as well as the university community on managing and supporting students with complex mental health issues.

You will be an excellent communicator and team player, able to prioritise effectively and demonstrate a high level of competence managing risk and supporting students with complex mental health presentations. We are seeking candidates with experience in a mental health or primary care role.

We are Campus University, based in Wolverhampton City Centre with campuses at Walsall and Telford.
