Mental Health Practitioner: Nurse Prescriber (Band 7)

Band 7 Medical Nurse Prescriber - Community Drug & Alcohol Team

ProMedical is seeking a Band 7 Medical Nurse Prescriber to join a community-based drug and alcohol team in South London. This temporary role offers £31 per hour.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients with substance misuse issues and develop individualised treatment plans.
• Prescribe and manage opioid substitution therapy (OST), detoxification regimes, and relapse prevention medications in line with best practice.
• Provide expert advice on harm reduction, withdrawal management, and medication adherence.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, social services, and community support agencies to ensure holistic care.
• Support patients with co-existing mental health conditions and complex social needs.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to governance and safeguarding policies.

• Current NMC registration as a Nurse Prescriber.
• Experience in substance misuse, drug & alcohol services, or addictions nursing.
• Strong knowledge of controlled drugs, detox protocols, and harm reduction strategies.
• Excellent communication, risk assessment, and crisis management skills.
