This is an exciting opportunity to take up a split post across the SCP and core CAMHS in Manchester. You will be part of a multi-agency team, working alongside occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, paediatricians, child and adolescent psychiatrists and CAMHS colleagues. The role is split across core CAMHS and autism assessment pathways, giving the opportunity to be part of an innovative service to improve the diagnostic and assessment experience for autistic children and their families as well as support mental health needs.
Main Duties of the JobYou will join a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated diagnostic clinicians and contribute to service development and innovation. You will support colleagues to provide specialist autism assessments for children and adolescents referred to the service based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from various sources.
You will assess and support the mental health needs of young people and their families.
Person Specification Registration- You must be registered/accredited with a professional body e.g., NMC, SW England, UKCP, HCPC, BACP.
- You must have a recognised qualification.
- Additional qualifications relating to the assessment of autism e.g. ADI, ADOS training.
- Additional qualifications relating to LD or autism.
- Additional post-graduate training in psychological therapies and interventions.
- Significant experience of working with children and young people with autism and social communication difficulties.
- Experience of assessing and managing risk, including safeguarding.
- Experience of developing and providing evidence-based assessments, formulations, and care plans.
- Up-to-date knowledge of child mental health and relevant legislation.
- Ability to assess, formulate and manage care appropriately.
- A commitment to undertake further relevant training and self-directed study.
- Punctual and flexible across hours of work when required.
- Ability to travel across the MFT footprint.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
