Kenton Black International is excited to be supporting one of the world's leading consultancies in the expansion of their UK Cost Management team. There currently exist opportunities for a degree qualified MEP Cost Manager to work on a number of exciting and high profile projects globally, from one of their many UK regional offices.

We're keen to hear from people with a strong consultancy background and with a proven track record of delivering high quality MEP cost management/quantity surveying/scheduling across the full lifecycle of schemes. Strong client facing skills and a varied project background are essential, with particular interest in airport, data centres, hi-tech manufacturing, and logistics experience.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Pre- and post-contract duties, including preparation of cost estimates, RFPs, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variation, final account, etc.
  2. Completing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
  3. Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  4. Tendering and procurement activity, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender report and compiling the contractual documents.
  5. Taking responsibility for timely and accurate cost checks and valuations.
  6. Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
  7. Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
  8. Participating effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes.
  9. Performing cost risk analysis and providing input into value engineering; negotiating and approving final accounts.
  10. Maintaining central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects and contributing to updating of best practices in estimating.

The ideal candidate will:

  1. Be educated to degree level, ideally in Quantity Surveying (essential).
  2. Come from a consultancy background (essential).
  3. Be MRICS (preferable).
  4. Have strong MEP experience (essential).
  5. Have client facing/stakeholder management experience (preferable).
