Job Description

Metadata Analyst - Nottingham - £40-£45k - Hyrbid (1-2 days per week on site)

The Bridge IT have partnered with a leading utilities company to recruit a Metadata Analyst to help drive their data strategy.

As a Metadata Analyst you will play a pivotal role in driving data quality and governance initiatives across the organisation. You'll work closely with business and technology stakeholders to implement metadata management solutions and promote data standards that enhance operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and overall organisational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure precise recording, maintenance, and distribution of critical data.
  • Communicate responsibly and transparently, acting as a trusted partner across the organisation
  • Champion data quality across the organisation by motivating and supporting senior stakeholders in meeting business objectives.
  • Implement metadata management solutions that integrate seamlessly with physical enterprise data assets.
  • Design and build a comprehensive Data Dictionary, Data Catalogue, and Data Lineage framework.
  • Integrate metadata repositories with enterprise data assets for efficient data management.
  • Educate and promote the use of metadata tools among Data Owners and Data Stewards.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for high-quality metadata management and research unified metadata models for anomaly detection.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in a quantitative field (eg, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science).
  • Proven experience in data extraction, metadata management, and large-scale data processing and presentation.
  • Expertise in metadata management tools, data curation, and governance.
  • Strong ability to communicate and enforce rigorous data standards across all organisational levels.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills to solve complex data challenges and drive impactful results.
