About the role

Hillingdon Museums manage several historic sites, including the Battle of Britain Bunker, Hillingdon's Museum & Archives, Eastcote House Gardens, and Manor Farm with its 13th-century Great Barn and Tudor Manor House. With ambitious plans for growth, we're looking for enthusiastic and engaging Museum Assistants to join our team.

Full-Time or Job Share (Part-Time) Positions Available

This role can be offered as:

• Job Share: 2 Part-Time Positions (18 hours each) £14,673 - £15,315 per annum (pro rata)
• Full-Time: 1 Position (36 hours) £29,346 - £30,630 per annum

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert tours at the Battle of Britain Bunker, bringing history to life for visitors.
• Support front-of-house operations, including ticket sales, rota coordination, and volunteer assistance.
• Engage with the public across our historic sites, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience.
• Assist with additional duties, such as managing private hire bookings, running the gift shop, supporting social media and website updates, and working on small-scale projects.

• Strong presentation skills, with the confidence to engage diverse audiences, from children to history enthusiasts.
• Adaptability, with the ability to switch between different roles across our sites.
• Excellent customer service skills, ensuring visitors have a memorable experience.
• Willingness to work weekends and school holidays, our busiest times.

Additional Information

• Work is scheduled on a rota basis, with potential for annualised hours to match seasonal demand.
• Interviews will include a prepared presentation on a Second World War topic (details to be provided).
