Network and Infrastructure Architect

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Network Architect to lead the design and delivery of a robust, scalable, and secure network and infrastructure strategy across the organisation. This strategic role requires a forward-thinking individual with deep expertise in network architecture-spanning LAN, WLAN, WAN, and cloud-based environments. The successful candidate will shape and enhance the organisation's infrastructure landscape to ensure operational excellence and support long-term innovation and growth.

Key areas of focus include hybrid cloud integration, network performance optimisation, and aligning infrastructure initiatives with broader enterprise goals. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for engaging cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

1. Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of the organisation's global network infrastructure-including LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and cloud-based networking.
2. Architect a resilient and future-ready network that supports operational efficiency and business scalability.
3. Implement robust network security frameworks and ensure continuous optimisation of network performance.
4. Design and integrate hybrid cloud solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and support seamless interaction between on-premise and cloud services.
5. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities across the network to maintain continuity of critical services.
6. Work closely with security teams to embed best practices-covering firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network segmentation.
7. Define and maintain architectural standards and guidelines that support scalability, security, and compliance.
8. Collaborate with technical leads and programme teams to ensure alignment on network and data centre migration strategies.
9. Monitor adherence to network infrastructure standards and provide governance across all implementation phases.
10. Act as a strategic partner to project and programme managers to ensure successful planning and execution of infrastructure initiatives.

1. 5+ years of experience in technical leadership roles related to network architecture, systems infrastructure, or data centre migration.
2. Advanced expertise in enterprise networking-covering LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and public cloud networks.
3. Practical experience with cloud service providers, ideally AWS, Azure, or GCP.
4. Strong understanding of hybrid environments, including on-premise infrastructure and cloud-native services.
5. In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies such as MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VPNs, and network virtualisation.
6. Hands-on experience with network automation and modern DevOps methodologies.
7. Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NIST) related to network architecture.
8. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field-or equivalent professional experience (10+ years).
9. Experience in highly regulated industries such as Payments or Financial Services is a plus.
10. Proven experience in modernising legacy infrastructure and managing cloud migrations.
11. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders.
