The Network Product Owner (Head of Networks) will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the company's network infrastructure. This role will ensure the network's reliability, security, and efficiency to support M&G's business operations and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategy and develop a comprehensive plan to transition all key network components to a fully cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Direct network engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network solutions.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the network engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Own open risks and be accountable for Network controls & audit.
  • Work closely with Network Operations teams to ensure Network Stability and monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime and disruptions.
  • Develop and enforce network policies, procedures, and standards to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Oversee network architecture, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their networking needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Manage network-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and trends to recommend improvements and innovations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in network engineering and management, with a strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software.
  • Experience with network security practices and technologies.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience in building relationships with external vendors.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are preferred.

  • Leadership: Ability to lead and inspire a team of network engineers.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of network infrastructure and security.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align network strategies with business goals.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving network issues.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position based in Stirling, UK; Reading, UK; or Offshore in Pune or Mumbai, India.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Flexible working hours to accommodate network maintenance and emergencies.
  • Work from home allowed up to 3 days a week.
