Introduction
The Media New Business team at dentsu operates at a group level, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices across our three media agencies. Within this team, three members are dedicated to supporting our Carat brand-this role and two direct reports. Additionally, this position works closely with Carat's leadership team to drive success.
Purpose of the Role
This role is responsible for designing, developing, and executing a persuasive narrative for new client opportunities, crafting unique value propositions that set Dentsu apart from the competition. Carat often works collaboratively with practice areas beyond media, as well as other markets or the central global function, with this role ensuring an integrated, results-focused approach to addressing client challenges. The focus is on managing large-scale, transformational pitches and applies across net new business opportunities as well as major client retention efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Working alongside pitch lead(s) to translate complex, at times multi-market client needs into a unified solution offering, strategic approach, implementation plan, and commercial proposal.
- Develop and communicate strategy and go-to-market narratives with a 'media +' lens, helping to promote the Carat and/or dentsu brands or communicate our proposition to new contacts.
- Design and oversee complex projects involving multiple brand solutions.
- Analyse customer business objectives, needs, processes, and existing infrastructure to ensure alignment with solutions.
- Clearly communicate and support all aspects of the proposed solution to stakeholders - internal as well as client and/or intermediary contacts.
- Ensure new business processes are fair, fulfilling and career-defining for our people.
- Select, support and manage pitch teams throughout the duration of a process.
- Continuous sharing of great pitch work, best practices teams can take into client day-to-day, and promoting and recruiting new talent into pitch experiences.
Qualifications + Skills
- Experience across some combination of sales, new business, client-facing roles frequent pitching, in a communications organisation, operating at a senior level.
- Strong understanding of the communications industry developments, big topics and challenges clients are tackling and a passion for brands and great campaigns.
- Managing multiple, senior stakeholders within fast-paced work processes.
- Strategic and storytelling experience - able to work alongside lead strategists and planner to ensure compelling and competitive pitch - across all deliverables.
- Commercial nous - ensure pitch commitments flow through all pitch deliverables.
- Experience persuading clients and colleagues to adopt new services and approaches.
