Oracle DBA Consultant

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centres (Delivery Centres), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Your role and responsibilities

As an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA), you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle databases for our clients. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing Oracle database architectures, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Performing database installations, upgrades, patches, and migrations.
• Managing database storage, backup, and recovery strategies.
• Monitoring database performance, optimizing queries, and tuning database parameters.
• Implementing and enforcing security policies, access controls, and disaster recovery plans.
• Collaborating with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand their database requirements and objectives.
• Providing technical guidance and support to clients during the database management lifecycle.
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest Oracle database features, updates, and best practices.

Required technical and professional expertise

• Experience in Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM, Oracle Data Guard, SQLplus & Pl/SQL, Oracle RMAN, Oracle GRID Infrastructure / Clusterware.
• Knowledge of setup and administration of Oracle EBusiness Suite R12 including cloning & patching.
• Thorough knowledge of Oracle Database architecture (12c).
• Experience of Oracle WebLogic.
• A depth of knowledge in OBIEE Reporting Tool.
• Operational knowledge of Open Source software such as Liferay.
