This is a permanent, full time position.
The shift pattern for this position is Mon-Fri 9-5.
Co-ordinate and manage a broad portfolio of phase II-III clinical trials in Paediatric Neuromuscular conditions and in particular Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
This post is based within the Paediatric Specialist Neuromuscular Team. The team supports research, evaluation, audit and performance monitoring across the specialist neuromuscular service for West of Scotland. The team works closely with Community Paediatricians, Speech & Language and Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Public Health staff, Clinical Psychologists, Health Visitors, Nurses, as well as local authority colleagues in social work and education.
The post holder will be expected to:
- Work as the Clinical Trials Co-ordinator taking responsibility for own scope of practice and day to day management and delivery of audit and research within the specialist clinical area.
- Engage with both national and international research, maintaining research experience through attending courses and regular updates in both Newcastle and London sites where appropriate.
- Be responsible for ensuring strict timelines are adhered to.
- Be resource conscious and aware of the departmental budget.
- Undertake local audit, quality & clinical effectiveness out with the designated research trials.
- Participate in national standards of care and the national audit as appropriate for designated clinical area.
- Be responsible for professional leadership, delegation and development of junior staff and support workers within the speciality, including personal development plans, appraisal and training, to ensure a high standard of work is delivered.
Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the service provision in conjunction with the neuromuscular team and W&C Directorate.
Essential Skills:
Candidates may hold a relevant qualification in areas such as Information Management, Business Management, or be able to demonstrate relevant experience and skills and knowledge within their working environment.
