Job Description

Opus 2 is hiring its first paralegal. This role is based in the UK but will support teams globally. This is an amazing opportunity to join a global, high growth, leading legal technology and services company. As part of a two-person legal team, you will report directly to and work closely with the General Counsel. You will also collaborate closely with the Sustainability Coordinator on ESG initiatives and reporting. You will play a key role in helping scale the legal and ESG function to support the business' evolving requirements.

The legal and ESG function at Opus 2 supports the business globally. It works across a wide variety of matters: commercial and procurement, privacy, AI, policy and regulatory, sustainability, legal ops - to name a few. As the business grows and expands, so does the work we do. The successful candidate will be someone who wants to work on and own multiple different projects and see them to completion. We are looking for a highly motivated, optimistic, driven, and self-starting individual who loves to work in a diverse international business.

This role brings fantastic opportunities for growth and development; it's essential that you are willing to get involved in and help with new things that come our way and can handle shifting priorities. In return, you will receive a supportive environment and exposure to interesting and high-impact work. You will have a real opportunity to build and adapt our processes and shape how we do things.

What you'll be doing

  • Support business colleagues in applying the business' legal process and policies, in particular the sales and procurement process.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams on deals, templates, playbooks and processes.
Compliance
  • Assist in developing, implementing, maintaining, and enforcing internal legal policies and compliance frameworks.
  • Conduct legal research on emerging laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting the business' operations and offerings; keep policies and processes up to date.

ESG
  • Lead efforts to gather, organise and report on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate sustainability commitments.
  • Complete annual ESG assessments e.g., EcoVadis, CDP, and other internal and external assessments, working collaboratively with other teams across the business to gather inputs and data.
  • Support with ESG supplier management and reporting.
