Job Description
Paralegal

Department: Legal

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: London

Reporting To: Gemma Seymour

Description

The Legal team provides a full range of legal services and support to the Group's UK and overseas entities, including but not limited to the drafting, negotiation and review of contracts, the provision of commercially sensitive legal advice to a range of stakeholders, and assisting on the Group's M&A activity.

Given the expanding scope of the Group's operation both in the UK and overseas, the Legal team is seeking a skilled Paralegal with at least 3 years of experience, either at a leading law firm or in-house legal team, to join and assist the team.

This role will report directly to Senior Legal Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

Working with the wider legal team, the paralegal will play a key role in managing the Group's contractual risk and supporting the broader buildout of the Legal function at CFC. Their responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with non-disclosure agreements and contract reviews.
  • Assisting with the Group's legal risk management programme, including maintaining the contracts, dispute, IP and other registers, work allocation and maintenance of the Legal inbox and document management system, assistance with supplier due diligence and other key legal controls.
  • Legislative monitoring including knowledge sharing and assisting with delivery of engaging, topical training, where appropriate.
  • Supporting other Legal team members on a variety of legal issues including drafting, review of commercial contracts, ad hoc legal research and general administrative support across the Legal department.
  • Supporting with internal invoicing processes and SRA relationship management.
  • Supporting key group projects, including M&A transactions, all the time working effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure the Group continues to meet its legal requirements.

About You

The ideal candidate for this Paralegal opportunity will be an exceptional communicator, both written and oral, along with an ability to communicate professionally with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels.

Due to the nature of this role it is suitable for someone who has at least 3 years experience at a reputable law firm or in-house legal team, who has commercial acumen with strong technical knowledge of commercial and corporate law. Although not essential it would be preferable for you to have completed a law degree, conversion course (GDL) or other recognised paralegal training course.

You will be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and take responsibility/ownership, with a hard-working and positive attitude, who enjoys being challenged. You will also be interested in creating efficiencies through the use of tech and AI where appropriate.
