Interim Parking Design Engineer Greenwich RQ Hybrid working

Key Requirements:
  1. Educated to degree level with experience in Transportation Parking / Municipal engineering desirable.
  2. An appropriate technical qualification with significant experience in Transportation.
  3. Experience of working with external agencies / partnerships relevant to the area of work and experience of managing contractors.
  4. Strong ability to perform traffic analysis and optimise parking layouts for maximum efficiency.
  5. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.), 3D modelling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

We are seeking a highly skilled Parking Design Engineer to join our team and play a key role in designing, planning, and implementing parking solutions for the public sector. The candidate will play a crucial role in delivering improvements whilst collaborating with other departments to ensure maximum efficiencies, become a subject matter expert, and provide support and direction to support the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work will directly impact the optimised functioning of the team contributing to ensuring that the parking operates efficiently and enhancing our financial position.
  2. Liaise with elected members, members of the public, key stakeholders, businesses, internal colleagues, and outsourced service providers regularly and will need to portray professional competence and a listening attitude.
  3. Assist in gathering data (site surveys, condition data, traffic movements) necessary for the design of controlled parking zones, other minor traffic schemes, and the management of traffic within the borough.
  4. Assist in the detailed design, including the preparation of drawings, inter-department communication, and consultation document creation on parking schemes.
  5. Assist in the preparations of estimates of cost relating to parking schemes.
  6. Inspect work by contractors and statutory undertakers, checking for quality and adherence to work order, along with the quantity of materials as per specification.
  7. Liaise with the traffic team to execute the final plan and contractors/statutory representatives on site.
  8. Work out of hours as necessary for site inspection, recording, and work supervision.
