About Our Client

Pen Heaven is a leading online retailer of personalised pens, leather accessories and stationery gifts. We have a market leading position in the UK, with a significant and growing presence abroad (predominantly USA, Canada, Australia).

Job Description

Duties:

  1. Ensure all accounting records are accurate and kept up to date including:
    1. Bank reconciliations with online payment gateways
    2. Credit card statements
    3. Journal entries for any required adjustments e.g. credit notes, refunds, rebates
  2. End of month supplier payrun, including reconciliation of supplier statements and invoices
  3. Payroll
  4. Aged creditors report, and follow up on overdue amounts
  5. Monthly management accounts, including reports on channel performance, to be communicated to managing director
  6. Bi-weekly low margin report on a SKU by SKU basis
  7. Prepare quarterly VAT return
  8. Work with external accountants to prepare year end accounts and tax returns
  9. Work with accounting software developers to ensure accuracy and completeness of records

The Successful Applicant

Required Skills & Experience:

  1. Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience
  2. Responsibility for overall bookkeeping function for minimum of 2 years
  3. Highly experienced with accounting software systems
  4. Attention to detail
  5. Strong knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable

Preferrable Skills:

  1. Experience with Microsoft Navision
  2. Understanding of online retail operations

The candidate will have a flexible work-life balance working a hybrid role between 20-25 hours / week.

The salary on offer is £24,000.
