If you have significant experience in the renewable energy industry, especially with expertise in land and property rights, this could be the ideal role for you.
This opportunity is perfect for a motivated professional looking to advance their career in an exciting sector with an established and respected consultancy. Teamwork is key, and our ideal candidate will have a strong background in consultancy or development.
About the Role:
As a Divisional Partner, you will primarily advise landowners and developers on the land rights required for large-scale renewable energy projects, covering all technologies. Depending on experience and qualifications, the role may also include promoting land, evaluating offers, site acquisition advisory, due diligence, and project valuations.
In addition to client-facing work, you will play a key role in supporting the growth of the Energy and Renewables team and contributing to business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to landowners and investors, ensuring their interests are protected throughout the renewable energy project lifecycle.
- Conduct site screenings, feasibility studies, and appraisals, offering strategic development advice.
- Market land and sites to developers, assess offers, and negotiate agreements to secure the best possible outcomes.
- Negotiate terms with developers and third-party landowners, including heads of terms, option agreements, leases, and access or utility agreements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, solicitors, accountants, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive advice to clients.
- Mentor and supervise junior team members to support their development.
- Assist with achieving business objectives, including budgeting and financial planning.
- Visit sites to assess potential, build client relationships, meet developers, and manage projects to completion.
- Contribute to business growth by identifying new opportunities and representing the firm at industry events, exhibitions, and public relations efforts.
- Stay up-to-date with professional development to maintain technical expertise and business insight.
- Provide expert advice to colleagues across the firm.
About You:
- Experience or qualifications in energy and renewables consultancy.
- MRICS certification and RICS Registered Valuer status (preferred but not essential).
- Proven experience in negotiating terms for energy and renewables projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with GIS or other mapping software is a plus.
- Exceptional report writing skills, with great attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness.
What's on Offer:
- Competitive Salary: Attractive salary, car allowance, profit share-based bonus scheme, and work-related bonuses.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Including up to 8% matched pension, 28 days holiday (with your birthday off), up to 11 wellness days per year, private medical cover, paid sabbatical every 5 years, and exclusive lifestyle discounts.
- Professional Development: Continuous learning, study support, and paid professional memberships.
- Innovative Environment: Be part of a forward-thinking team driving industry trends.
