Join the Thales Alenia Space UK as a Project Management Officer, where you'll be responsible for the management and deployment of project controls across our high profile satellite projects.

You'll manage the schedules and baselines, presenting clear information for our project leadership to inform key decisions. Working closely across functions and directly with numerous partners and customers, you'll be able to influence the management and delivery of our exciting projects.

Day to day your role will include:

  • Deploying project controls for telecoms satellite constellation programmes.
  • Facilitating planning workshops to support WBS and construction of Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in Primavera P6, ensuring consistency with individual work packages and reflecting all technical and non-technical requirements.
  • Implementing robust Performance Management Baseline (PMB).
  • Implementing and operating change control across programmatic baselines to ensure clarity over performance management vs forecasts.
  • Identifying trends, analysis of variances, and recommending corrective actions, and focusing on proactive risk and opportunity management.
  • Carrying out analysis and reporting including schedule reviews, risk reviews, project reviews. Working closely with project leadership to create metrics.
  • Providing coaching and guidance on best practice project controls to the project teams.
  • Managing and deploying subject matter experts for certain toolsets.
  • Promoting a continuous improvement culture to project control processes to innovate and improve efficiency, capturing and cascading lessons learned.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Technical expertise in managing project controls (including scheduling, EVM, risk management, baseline management).
  • Experienced in the use of Primavera P6.
  • Previous experience within an engineering or closely related field.

What kind of person will succeed in this role?

You'll be working cross-functionally and with a large number of customers and partners, so you'll need to be a strong communicator across all levels. We're also looking for you to deliver coaching and training to less experienced colleagues, and be seen as a go-to resource for help. Similarly, you'll need to influence project teams to ensure they work in a best-practice and compliant way.

Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire.

We operate a mix of remote and office working, and would expect around 3 days a week on-site. There'll also be occasional travel to our facility in Belfast, Northern Ireland and Cannes, France.
