2 Practice Auditors - Quality and Improvement
4-month interim contract to start ASAP
West Midlands local authority
£41.42 per hour
Inside IR35 (via umbrella)
Hybrid working 2 days per week on site


An urgent opportunity has arisen within Birmingham Children's Trust for 2 Practice Auditors - Quality and Improvement to support with the development of a brand new team. CV's are being reviewed immediately and interviews will be taking place this week.


Reporting into the Lead for Policy and Quality Assurance, you will deliver a range of PQA (Performance and Quality Assurance) activities, comprising practice evaluations and moderation, deep dives, thematic and partnership audits, rapid and practice reviews, staff training, closing the loop (CTL) activities, children and families' feedback, and peer reviews.


Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct review of case files to ensure the outcomes records are up to date in line with Ofsted readiness
  • Supporting Ofsted inspection and monitoring visit activities, providing reports and findings on all PQA activities as required
  • Ensure that the records and practice are compliant and in line with councils use of systems to include mandatory actions, assessments and plans that are both effective & fit for purpose
  • Acting as a first point of specialist QA advice and support to a distinct core area of service. Encouraging and supporting staff in their development and training to improve practice
  • Providing respectful professional feedback to practitioners, managers, and leaders to drive practice improvement across the Trust
  • Use tools to escalate/de-escalate as needed including highlighting examples of best practice
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead for Policy and Quality Assurance within respective service areas
  • Developing and delivering training on PQA and connections count model to Trust colleagues

Requirements of the Practice Auditors
  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in a related field
  • Active Registration with Social Work England
  • Experience of supervising other practitioners
  • Excellent report writing skills/assessment skills
  • High performance management across statutory services - know what Good looks like
  • Strong analytical skills to manage data, reports and case files
  • Significant Audit experience
  • Enhanced DBS
  • 2 years' professional references
