Principal DevOps Engineer

What you'll need to succeed

Active Security Clearance

• Extensive technical experience of a wide variety of server operating systems at an architecture, design and technical expert level.
• Extensive knowledge of IT security best practice, with particular emphasis on MOD standards and accreditation process.
• Extensive experience of Microsoft Windows Servers 2016 and 2019, Virtualisation technologies - Microsoft Hyper-V, other Server and infrastructure technologies in a large enterprise environment, either holding appropriate qualifications or working toward them.
• Experience in code-based automation/infrastructure as code, e.g. Terraform, Ansible, ARM, Powershell.
• Understanding of automated testing tools and techniques.
• Experience in code source control.
• Extensive experience using Microsoft Powershell.
• Experience leading quality/technical assurance within complex projects.
• Experience of Linux Operating Systems and other open-source technologies.
• Experience of designing technical security controls including design and configuration of perimeter security devices.
• Experience with IP networking, including the ability to debug and troubleshoot network problems.
• Experience working with Cloud technologies, Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with business continuity concepts such as methods and techniques for risk management, business impact analysis, countermeasures, and contingency arrangements relating to serious disruption of IT services.
• Knowledge of containers and orchestration techniques.
