About the Role:
Are you a Systems Test Engineer with a background in control systems, rig design, and system validation? This opportunity sits within a team responsible for designing, commissioning, and operating state-of-the-art SIM/STIM test capabilities for Integration, Verification & Validation (IV&V) of submarine control systems.
You'll help deliver a demanding test and acceptance schedule-working hands-on with test rigs, creating test scripts, and troubleshooting complex systems that directly impact platform manoeuvrability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop SIM/STIM test rigs and infrastructure.
  2. Author, compile, and execute test scripts and test documentation.
  3. Diagnose and resolve faults within complex system environments.
  4. Define and deliver system integration and testing plans.
  5. Support test hardware infrastructure and ensure safe operation.
  6. Line management of junior test engineers (as required).

What You'll Need:

  1. Strong technical background in complex engineering environments.
  2. Experience in system integration, test planning, and acceptance.
  3. Familiarity with SIM/STIM environments and test rig development.
  4. Proven track record compiling and executing technical test scripts.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Knowledge of Defence/Industry standards (e.g., Def Stan 00-55/56, IEC 61508).
  2. Experience with MathWorks tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink for control systems).
  3. Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (e.g., CEng, MIET).
  4. Understanding of safety-critical system accreditation processes.

Qualifications:

A degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or equivalent relevant experience.

Background:
This is an exciting opportunity to work for a global business that has developed a strategy of working closely with its contingent workforce. Within the role, you can expect to:

  1. Achieve a work/life balance
  2. Be appreciated and valued
  3. Gain security clearance

If this sounds like the role for you, we'd love to hear from you!
