About the role

The Streetspace Principal Engineer will take the lead in developing, reviewing, designing, consulting, and delivering a range of schemes to promote walking, cycling, and bus priority while reducing congestion and improving road safety. The schemes will include School Streets, strategic cycle routes, traffic signal works, bus lanes, and measures to enhance road safety.

About you

You will have a working knowledge and understanding of highways, traffic, and transport-related legislation, statutory duties and practices, as well as an understanding of the current planning, sustainability, and economic agendas influencing highway and transport policy. You should have a record of successful delivery of traffic and parking schemes and possess a relevant professional qualification or suitable experience, including at least 5 years of relevant experience.
