Job DescriptionPrincipal Process Engineer
Location: Warrington
Staff / Contract (Inside IR35)
Project Description:
The project requires the following at a high level:
- Mobilisation of residual solids in legacy effluent management tanks
- Retrieval of solids from tanks
- Separation of solids from adhering nuclear inventory
- Routing of recovered nuclear inventory for onward processing
- Packaging and routing of residual solids for onward encapsulation (ILW and LLW)
Role Description:
- Produce process engineering deliverables to support the "Appraise and Select" design phase
- Work within a multi-discipline design team
- Key deliverables will include:
- Process description
- Process schematics
- Basis of process safety
- Underpinning calculations
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering - A formal educational background in Chemical Engineering is a must.
- Proactive and driven approach to work - Ability to take initiative and remain motivated.
- Good communication skills - Capable of collaborating with team members from different disciplines and effectively communicating ideas and solutions.
- Competent report writing skills - Ability to document findings clearly and concisely, ensuring all reports are well-structured and easy to understand.
- Comfortable under time and cost constraints - Able to work efficiently under deadlines and within budget limitations.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
- Chartered Chemical Engineer - Chartered status with the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) or Engineering Council (EC) is a plus.
- Experience with Sellafield Ltd procedures - Familiarity with the procedures for checking and approval within Sellafield Ltd.
- Experience in nuclear industry design delivery - Prior involvement with designing and delivering projects in the nuclear sector.
- DESEAR - Experience or knowledge of the Design Engineering Safety Assessment and Risk Management (DESEAR) process.
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
