Job Title: Principal Procurement Professional

Location: Scotstoun, Glasgow. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £45,000 to £52,000 depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide leadership and line management to a small team, including at least one direct report, ensuring effective performance, development, and support
  • Managing established high value complex contracts
  • Managing supplier performance to ensure delivery of agreed milestones to cost, quality and schedule
  • Proactively identifying supplier risk, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements
  • Investigating and resolving claims for delay or poor performance
  • Leading contract change negotiations with suppliers
  • Undertaking robust financial management of procurement contracts, including cost savings, cost avoidance, completion estimates and ongoing cost analysis
  • Supporting cross functional project activities - e.g. suppliers, business & cost account reviews, business reporting & KPI monitoring
  • Using the ERM system to manage Purchase Orders and other deliverables

Your skills and experiences:

  • Professional knowledge and understanding of procurement principles, techniques, and practices
  • Proven experience and expertise in contract management within a supply chain environment, preferably within a similar industry
  • Proficiency in managing financial spend and budget control
  • Effective negotiation and influencing skills when engaging with internal and external stakeholders at senior levels
  • Awareness of the legal environment related to purchasing contracts and framework agreements
  • CIPS qualified or working towards CIPS
  • Previous line management experience within a Commercial environment
