PRINCIPAL PROJECT OFFICER

As the capital city of Wales, Cardiff is growing faster than any other capital city in Europe.

While the growth is a signal of strength, it will bring challenges too. The Waste Strategy department is therefore looking for a Project Manager to coordinate implementation of the Recycling Strategy for Cardiff.

About the job

In this role you will be responsible for Project and Programme management. This will involve coordinating a range of internal and external stakeholders, setting out key milestones and ensuring that all parties deliver on their commitments. You will also produce regular reports to the Programme Board, highlighting risks, updating on financial and resource matters and outlining progress.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will have strong organisational and effective communication skills with the ability to coordinate multi-departmental teams, quickly building credibility and trust with stakeholders. A strong and demonstrable ability to manage projects is essential.

Experience of delivering recycling and waste projects in partnership with others, particularly in a Local Authority setting, would be advantageous. A thorough knowledge and understanding of Waste Management Policy and Regulation is essential. Excellent ICT and administration experience is also necessary.

The post is based on a 37 hour week.

Access to a vehicle and holding a full valid driving licence is essential.
