AWE is recruiting a Procurement Manager to lead procurement activities for capital investment projects covering construction and infrastructure.

Location: Reading area, with free onsite parking. Hybrid working is available.

Package: £46,000 to £65,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Let us introduce the role

You will report into a Senior Procurement Manager and will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing strategic sourcing activities including preparation of tender documentation, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, contract award, and handover to the contract manager.

You will be responsible for procurements up to £20m in value, or be part of a team running major procurements. You will ensure compliance with public procurement regulations and AWE Commercial Governance policies in all activities.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Procurement Manager with previous experience of working within a capital procurement function and someone with a thorough understanding of regulated procurement processes. Ideally, you will have experience delivering capital procurements within a comparable organisation or industry. You will have experience of managing multiple stakeholders and priorities and be knowledgeable in NEC forms of contract.

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:

  1. Preparing tender packages, conducting tender conferences, developing evaluation criteria, analysing and evaluating proposals.
  2. Public Procurement Regulations e.g. PCR 2015, DSPCR 2011, and the Procurement Act 2023.
  3. Pricing arrangements and incentivisation mechanisms e.g. target cost incentive fee.
  4. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating NEC forms of contract, including framework agreements.
  5. Strategic procurement.
  6. Working in cross-functional teams across multiple projects.
  7. Managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  8. Proven record of delivering business objectives in line with organisation policies, on time, in full, and within budget.
  9. Experience of using eProcurement systems, particularly Jaggaer and AWARD.

Hybrid working is available for this role on an informal, non-contractual basis. Typically 1 day onsite per week in our London office.
