The role
As a Procurement Manager, you'll support the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and partners in delivering next-gen submarine capabilities, enhancing availability and through-life performance of in-service submarines.

Day-to-day, you'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide Babcock's in-service submarine supply chain support and expertise, ensuring strategic outcomes for the MoD.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Challenge and manage key internal stakeholders to enable transformative practices
  • Introduce innovative ideas from the supply chain
  • Oversee procurement activities and project delivery
  • Deliver and present best practice supply chain reporting, knowledge, and expertise

Essential experience of the Procurement Manager:

  • Proven experience in strategic supply chain planning, transformation, or global sourcing.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across organisational boundaries
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of supply chain risk
  • Experience in delivering supply chain improvements

Qualifications for the Procurement Manager:

  • MCIPS accreditation or willingness to work towards this as part of Continuous Professional Development is essential

Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
