Job Description

An established multidisciplinary management consultancy in Birmingham is seeking a Procurement Manager to carry out end-to-end procurement.

The successful candidate will have a strong background across the procurement lifecycle, including strategy development and tender preparation.

We are looking for procurement candidates with experience in sectors such as construction, property, transport, rail, water, power, clean energy, nuclear, MOD/defence, oil & gas, mining, and others.

Flexible remote working is supported, with the understanding that candidates will need to visit the office regularly for meetings and tasks.

The successful Procurement Manager will work alongside a highly skilled team delivering strategic procurement and contract advice, including end-to-end procurement services for key water, power, and renewables clients.

This role involves managing procurement delivery and commercial strategies from inception to contract award, developing tender and contract documentation, and overseeing the tender process.

Opportunities for national and international travel to service and manage key commissions for blue-chip clients are available.

Responsibilities and Duties

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fulfilling the responsibilities of a Senior Procurement and Contracts Consultant
  • Providing specialist procurement strategy advice to public and private sector clients
  • Managing end-to-end procurement services
  • Supporting business development and marketing of the Contract Services division
  • Supporting team and business targets
  • Assisting with bid preparation, proposal documentation, and work-winning activities
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Strong background across the procurement lifecycle, including strategy development and tender preparation
  • Experience with various contract forms, especially NEC and JCT
  • Experience providing procurement strategy advice to public and private sectors
  • Contract management skills
  • Knowledge of public and utilities contract regulations
  • Contract drafting, negotiation, and award experience
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Law, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field, or MCIPS qualification
