Team: You'll be joining the Product Design team, which defines the digital product experiences for mobile apps, newsletters, subscriber journeys, and editorial publishing tools. Our mission is to deliver clean, engaging ways of attracting customers and telling stories, ensuring our journalism is presented in the best possible way.
Role: We're looking for a self-motivated Product Designer with a passion for solving problems and creating seamless user experiences. You'll play a key role in developing a suite of products that engage our subscribers, ensuring they have the best possible experience when interacting with us.
Day-to-Day You Will:
- Apply human-centred design principles to create impactful changes through smart, data-driven UX implementation. Deliver industry-standard web and app user experiences.
- Conduct customer interviews, use research tools, test designs, and analyse data to understand user needs and validate design decisions.
- Maintain weekly touchpoints with customers, creating a feedback loop with frequent testing and iterative improvements.
- Champion and contribute to the evolution of the design system, ensuring consistency and excellence across product experiences.
- Facilitate working sessions with cross-functional teams, balancing stakeholder opinions to create optimal outcomes.
- Think outside the box to solve problems and develop innovative solutions, bringing enthusiasm and stakeholders along with you.
- Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with both short-term and long-term goals.
What We're Looking for from You:
- Product Design Expertise: A track record of impactful UX implementation and strong knowledge of web and app user experience standards.
- Design Tools: Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Figma and research tools like UserZoom.
- Communication: Strong ability to collaborate across disciplines, confidently sell ideas, and facilitate discussions with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to Detail: Passion for product design trends and delivering seamless, user-centred solutions.
- Research and Data Analysis: Ability to use customer feedback and data to inform and validate design decisions.
- Design System Knowledge: Experience championing and contributing to design systems.
- Technical Understanding: Familiarity with HTML and CSS to understand the structural components of the web.
- Cool Under Pressure: Ability to deliver high-quality work on time in a fast-paced environment.
