Within RWE Supply & Trading (RWEST), Commodity Solutions is responsible for customer coverage, including up- and downstream origination and sales activities in large parts of Europe. We are looking for a commercially driven and highly motivated team member with a particular interest in developing new product and business opportunities around green power supply concepts / PPAs, focusing on the UK and Ireland. You will be based in our UK offices either in London or Swindon, with hybrid working possible. In your role as Product Development & Contract Manager, you will:
- Develop commercial concepts and new products: Contribute to the overall performance of the business based on a deep understanding of energy economics and energy transactions, designing structured PPA products to create value and/or mitigate risk.
- Provide project management and assume process ownership: Manage projects and ensure fit-for-purpose processes, working transaction-oriented to finalize deals with regional business relationship managers.
- Develop and manage contracts: Lead contract development and template roll-out in consultation with stakeholders, ensuring PPA contracts are kept up-to-date with regulatory, legal, and commercial aspects.
- Provide renewable portfolio overviews: Act as an interface to RWE's renewable assets and projects, identifying PPA opportunities across countries and aggregating relevant portfolio information.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant (numerate) discipline (e.g., business administration, economics, engineering)
- Knowledge of commodity markets and upstream/downstream origination of renewable PPAs, with experience in green PPAs in the UK/Ireland
- 1-3 years of experience in energy commodities/renewable energy, preferably in product development and/or sales with a focus on UK/Ireland
- Excellent analytical, conceptual, and commercial skills with the ability to turn ideas into successful business
- Understanding of commercial (PPA) contracts and knowledge of relevant contract law
- Proactive team player and good networker with the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent English skills are essential
